Changes are coming to overdraft coverage.

Here's the information you need to know!

We’ve all been there. You’re standing in a checkout line with a cart full of groceries and all of a sudden it hits you. “Do I have enough money in my account to cover this purchase?”

Previously, Allegis Credit Union offered Courtesy Pay on your checks and ACH withdrawals from your checking account, but not on your everyday debit card purchases or ATM withdrawals. But that’s about to change, if you want it to!

Now, you can have your ATM and everyday debit card purchases covered by Courtesy Pay, but you have to let us know. It is called Courtesy Pay PLUS and the form to opt in is included in the enclosed brochure entitled Overdraft Protection Notification. You can also call or let us know next time you are in the branch.

Of course, you can still have funds transferred from your savings to cover overdrafts made to your checking. But this gives you another level of protection so that purchases made with your debit card can be completed by accessing available Courtesy Pay PLUS funds. Even if you never overdraw your account, you have the option to have this safeguard in place, just in case.

Here’s information on your overdraft coverage options so you can make the best decision for you.

You get to choose!

Make the choice that’s best for you! You can choose one or both options. If you choose to have both, funds will transfer from your linked savings suffixes first, and Courtesy Pay PLUS would be an extra layer of protection.

To Opt In for Courtesy Pay PLUS:

  • Log into your account in online banking and go to “Preferences” at the top right of your screen
  • Download the pdf form and return it to Allegis CU
  • Call (800) 797-3281
  • Visit any Allegis CU branch location
